New Business Unit Powers Defence Simulation Growth

Thomas Global Systems has established a specialist business unit dedicated to delivering defence simulation & training technology. The company’s new business unit, Simulation & Training Solutions, aims to provide the ADF and international customers with advanced immersive military training & simulation solutions.

The new Simulation & Training Solutions business unit is already working with the Australian Department of Defence and a range of international defence OEMs to create new advanced simulation solutions focused on enhancing the skills and competence of soldiers, sailors and aviators while reducing the requirement for expensive live training exercises.

With multiple contracts already in hand, including a prime contract to deliver the Australian Army’s M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams Immersive Tactical Training Systems, and the ability to draw on Thomas Global’s 65-year pedigree in high-integrity aviation & defence electronics, the new business unit is forecast to grow rapidly creating more high-value engineering jobs in Australia.

Headed by Michael Hall as Vice President & General Manager, the new business unit has a team of more than 50 dedicated personnel specialising in simulation and training technologies covering design, engineering, production and support. Hall, who joined Thomas Global Systems in 2022 as Director of Business Development, brings extensive industry experience from the Australian Army and defence industry. At Thomas Global Systems, he has successfully overseen the military market business development across Australia and the United States.
