The Leapfrog Group has announced the winners of its 2018 Top Hospital Awards with 118 hospitals recognized in four categories; Children’s, General, Teaching and Rural Hospitals. Florida, California, New jersey and Texas each recorded 12 or more hospitals receiving the highest awards for this year.
Leapfrog is “a non profit watchdog organization that serves as a voice for healthcare purchasers using their collective influence to foster positive change in US health care.” It works with Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality to deliver the award program one of the premier programs in the country.
More than 2600 Hospitals apply for a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, roughly half of the countries facilities, and 32% earn an A grade and just under 1% an F grade.
