The American Academy of Nursing (Academy) has selected 231highly distinguished nurse leaders as its 2019 class of Academy fellows. Theinductees will be honored at a ceremony during the Academy's annual policyconference, Transforming Health, Driving Policy, which will take place from October24-26, 2019, in Washington, D.C.

The newest addition of fellows within this class represents 38states, the District of Columbia, as well as 17 countries.

The Academy is currently comprised of more than 2,600 nurseleaders in education, management, practice, policy and research. They have beenrecognized for their extraordinary commitment to the promotion of the public’shealth through evidence and innovation.

Through a competitive and rigorous process, a committee ofelected fellows reviewed hundreds of applications. The new fellows wereselected based on their impressive contributions to increase access, reducecost and improve quality through nursing theory, practice and science.Induction into the Academy is a significant milestone in a nurse leaders’careers where their accomplishments are honored by those within the nursingdiscipline.
