Inovus-Medical-launches-bozzini-Basic-Hysteroscopy-simulator

In 2018, Inovus Medical launched the bozziniHysteroscopy Simulator, the first training device that delivers close-to-life,affordable, turnkey hysteroscopy simulation. The launch was supported by EITHealth through a €50,000 Headstart award.

Soon after its entry to the market, it becameevident that there was an opportunity for Inovus to develop this simulatorfurther in order to meet the needs of medical device companies and simulationproviders who already possess the imaging required for hysteroscopy simulationbut were lacking access to affordable and highly realistic anatomical models. Toanswer this need, the Inovus design team have created the bozzini HysteroscopyBasic.

The basic package allows the end user to experiencehands on “wet-lab” simulation thanks to its fully irrigatable uterine models. The models are specifically designed to offer highly realistic simulation ofirrigation management during hysteroscopy. Each wet-lab uterus comes completewith 8 to 10 resectable polyps that are manufactured from a proprietarywater-based substrate. The polyp substrate reacts like real tissue whenoperated on with energy devices and morcellators, making this an option fordemonstration and training of medical devices. The real-to-life tissue not onlyshows medical devices in their best light, but also offers the platform foraffordable, high volume training with standard hysteroscopy instruments.

The bozzini Hysteroscopy Basic comes complete with adrip tray as standard, allowing irrigation fluid to be captured throughout use,so the system can be used anywhere from the skills lab to a conference centre, makingit an extremely clean and portable solution for training the skills requiredfor operative- and office-based hysteroscopy procedures.

Inovus Medical CEO and Medical Director, Dr ElliotStreet, said “We plan to release more variants of the wet-lab model over thecoming months that will further add to the training experience possible withthe bozzini Basic system.”
