Corpus Christi Medical Center has partnered with Del Mar College to provide job training using a $464,747 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. The grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend area.
This grant will be used to provide custom training to 278new and incumbent workers in healthcare. Trainees will include registerednurses, certified nurse assistants, case managers and others. Upon completionof training, the workers will receive an average hourly wage of $23.14.
“The partnership between Corpus Christi Medical Center andDel Mar College on this Skills Development Fund grant will benefit both thelocal community and its workforce,” said TWC Commissioner Representing LaborJulian Alvarez. “Collaborations like this grant improve the skills of Texasworkers and ensures our labor force remains among the most talented in theworld.”
