The DiSTI Corporation has announced the release of GL Studio 8.3, an updated version of its human-machine interface (HMI) development tool. The new release includes several enhancements designed to improve efficiency and expand functionality for developers in industries such as automotive and aerospace.

GL Studio 8.3 introduces improved integration with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), allowing developers to streamline workflows by directly opening error messages in platforms like Visual Studio, Xcode, or Linux's default editor. Enhanced log tab filters further simplify the debugging process by enabling the categorization of messages, warnings, and errors.

For the first time, the update provides ANGLE runtime support for Linux and macOS, enabling deployment of GL Studio content to platforms such as Unity and Unreal Engine. This addition allows for prototyping across macOS and Linux systems, expanding options for developers working on simulations and software-defined vehicles.

Safety-critical industries will benefit from a new runtime library that supports deployment on CPU-based embedded hardware. It has been designed for challenging environments, such as aerospace missions and high-radiation areas.

The update also includes quality-of-life improvements, such as the ability to copy and paste elements between editor instances, enhanced font generation options, and better multitasking support. Bug fixes address issues related to WebGL touch events, runtime compatibility, and other user-reported challenges.

GL Studio 8.3 reflects over a year of development and testing.
