An online training provider for the automotive sector, Our Virtual Academy, has secured £97,000 in funding to develop virtual reality (VR) training experiences. The investment, from the Community Investment Enterprise Fund (CIEF) through BCRS Business Loans, will allow the company to enhance training for automotive technicians, especially in electric vehicle repair.

Founded in 2016 by former Formula 1 mechanic Ben Stockton, the company specializes in online, face-to-face, and custom training videos. Stockton emphasized the growing demand for VR training, particularly in the electric vehicle market, aiming to provide technicians with practical skills and meaningful work experiences.

The funding will help create VR experiences for remote theory and practical training, expanding the company’s offerings and supporting growth in the sector.
