Swiss AviationTraining (SAT) and Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) have re-entered their Embraer E-Jet 190 full flight simulator into service at its Vienna training base, along with Austrian Airlines. The simulator was dismantled in its previous Munich location, transported to Vienna and reassembled in just six weeks.

SAT and LFT joined forces to move their E-Jet 190 FFS from Munich to Vienna to be available for Austrian Airlines’ current fleet expansion training needs, and will be joined later by an integrated procedure trainer to form a full E-Jet 190 centre of competence. The first pilot crews have begun training on the newly-inaugurated simulator.

Some 20 SAT instructors will be assigned to Lufthansa Flight Training Vienna to work on the relocated equipment, largely to train pilots of Austrian Airlines (Austria’s flag carrier is acquiring 17 Embraer 195 aircraft from Lufthansa City Line). But the simulator is available to other airlines, too.
