A staggering one in five Gen Z workers have not had a direct conversation with someone over 50 in their workplace in the last year, new research from LinkedIn shows.
While a Harris Poll, commissioned exclusively for Fortune, revealed 65% of Gen Z employees don't know what to talk about with their older co-workers.
Given the huge recruitment demand in aviation, bridging the generational gap is crucial for the industry to recruit, retain and flourish.
At the upcoming World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) 2024, renowned industry expert Emily Hooker, who holds extensive experience in aviation training, cabin crew operations and safety instruction, will present her findings in "Adapting to Generation Z."
Drawing on her diverse career journey, Emily will explore the evolving dynamics of the multi-generational workforce in aviation. She will examine the impact of digital sophistication, entrepreneurial spirit, and unique learning preferences exhibited by Gen Z individuals.
Through insightful discussions, Emily will address the challenges of negative stereotyping and the importance of maintaining a 'Just Culture' for onboard safety.
In addition to exploring learning approaches and neuro-diversity, Emily will shed light on the significance of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality (IDE) initiatives in crew training.
As the aviation industry continues to embrace virtual learning and technology-driven solutions, Emily will evaluate the effectiveness of current methods and propose innovative approaches leveraging Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The session promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of how aviation can adapt to the needs of emerging generations while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Participants will gain practical insights, actionable strategies, and a deeper understanding of the importance of fostering a culture of inclusivity and continuous learning in the aviation sector.
Don't miss this opportunity to engage with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and shape the future of aviation training. Join us at WATS 2024 to be part of the conversation and drive positive change in the aviation industry.
