Entrol has just sold a Bell 429 FTD Level 5 simulator to Meridian Helicopters, based in Townsville, Australia, and it has been scheduled for installation in the Summer of 2025.

The Bell 429 FTD Level 5 simulator combines advanced features to support Meridian Helicopters’ training objectives.

The simulator is equipped with real Garmin GTN 650 and GTN 750 avionics, ensuring authenticity in navigation and communication training.

Additional features include a cylindrical visual system with a 200ºx40º field of view, a Forward-Looking Infrared Camera (FLIR), and vibration systems simulate real-world flight conditions, enabling pilots to practice complex scenarios in a controlled environment.

Geoff Keir, Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Helicopters mentioned: “This state-of-the-art flight simulator will be the start of the North Queensland Aviation Centre of Excellence with the delivery of first-class Rotary Wing Flight Training.”

This Bell 429 FTD Level 5 simulator will be Entrol’s second installation in Australia. Its deployment in Townsville will play a key role in enhancing the training programs offered by Meridian Helicopters, ensuring pilots are well-prepared for real-world challenges.
