328 Support Services GmbH, the Bavarian aircraft-technology company better known as simply 328, has entered the helicopter market.
Working with Reiser Simulations and Training GmbH (RST), the company completed a data gathering project to collect vital information to help create a Level D compliant flight model of the H125 from Airbus Helicopters. Level D is the highest level of flight simulator certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
“This award from RST is a strategically exciting project for us to work on,” said 328 Managing Director Dave Jackson. “We have the necessary skillset and expertise in house to ensure the success of this project which marks a significant win for the company as it opens the door to future collaborative work for rotor wing technology.
RST developed its own H145 simulator for helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) training, and is awaiting its Level D certification. Its first H145 full-flight simulator was installed ADAC HEMS Academy in Bonn/Hangelar, Germany.
“328 has excellent expertise in helping business aviation companies gain the required regulatory approval,” said RST CER Roman Sperl. “We are neighbors in Bavaria, have been looking to explore collaboration now for some time and we are delighted to entrust their team’s fine expertise to work with us to achieve our goals.“
RST and 328 won a second project to work on an Agusta Westland twin-engine AW168 helicopter. Research and development work began in Oberpfaffenhofen earlier this past summer.
