The German and Spanish Ministries of Defense selected Indra to develop a new version of the Eurofighter Typhoon Simulator. The simulation is on schedule for delivery by the end of 2019.
It will feature the changes incorporated into the latest version of the aircraft itself, notably radar advances, electronic defense systems and next-generation avionics. Indra will also add next-generation training improvements to the new system including instruction positioning, exercise debriefing systems, human-machine planning interfaces. These will help to create malleable environments and scenarios to increase mission readiness.
The new simulator's development is framed within the agreement between the German and Spanish Ministries of Defense to develop the Eurofighter's Pilot Synthetic Training System (SPTS).
Related to this agreement, the Spanish Ministry of Defense also awarded Indra with a contract to develop two Part Task Trainers (PTTs) for the Eurofighter, exclusively for the Spanish Armed Forces. The PTTs will provide basic training for the aircraft, while also bringing the simulator up to date with the jet’s most recent standards.
It is scheduled for delivery in December of 2018 at the Albacete and Morón airbases.
