Military units from 19 NATO allies and partner nations participated in the fourth Exercise Ample Strike, a multinational, live exercise and outreach effort in the Czech Republic. It directly supports the U.S. Department of Defense’s 2018 National Defense Strategy Summary (NDSS) elements that work to make interoperability a priority.

The event’s goal was to increase Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) proficiency levels, provide theater-realistic training opportunities for the participating personnel and improve standardization and interoperability between NATO allies and partner nations.

“At the unit level, we are able to work out any difficulties we have with the interoperability of our equipment in an exercise atmosphere prior to deploying together and discovering any issues during combat ops,” says Lt. Col. Adam Knox, 4th Airlift Squadron director of operations.
