Tactical Medical Wing (TMW) demonstrated lifesaving capabilities to medical professionals and Defence partners from across the UK and overseas.

Specialists were on hand, over a three-day period, to discuss the diverse outputs of TMW. This included Critical Care Air Support Teams, who provided the ability to move critically ill patients through the Aeromedical Evacuation capability; Medical Emergency Response Teams who delivered pre-hospital emergency care, from the point of injury to initial treatment facilities; high readiness Deployable Aeromedical Response Team Squadron, who demonstrated the Role 1 Medical Treatment Facility, which can be used to provide healthcare and bespoke medical support to a larger deployment of personnel on operations. Additionally, the Air Transportable Isolator was displayed; operated by the UK Royal Air Force (RAF), this self-contained isolation facility can be used to transfer casualties with infectious diseases from anywhere in the world.

TMW is the operational hub for the RAF Medical Service.  Its role is to train, equip and support the deployment of RAFMS personnel for Defence Operations worldwide. Over the next three days, personnel had the opportunity to visit TMW and to see the high-quality medical capability they deliver on behalf of the RAF and UK Defence.
