Engineering & Computer Simulations Inc. (ECS) has wontwo task orders on the Enterprise Training Services Contract (ETSC) multi-awardindefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. This five-year, $2.4-billioncontract provides for education, training and knowledge-based services insupport of the U.S. Army and its Security Cooperation mission. Retired Col.WilliamP. (Bill) Canaley, ECS senior vice president of Operations will lead theseprojects.
Awarded by Army Contracting Command-Orlando (ACC-O) for theU.S. Army Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation(PEO-STRI), the first task order, Senior Instructor Operator for Gunnery andKnowledge Wall Maintenance, provides senior instructor/operator support for theM1A2 Abrams Advanced Gunnery Training System and the M2A3 Bradley Conduct ofFire Trainer to support gunnery trainers and training exercises in Korea.
ECS will also provide scheduled maintenance support for theKnowledge-Wall, Infra-red Translation and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) equipmentmaintenance. The Knowledge Wall provides a collaboration and communicationcapability that links the Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVCG)training domains. It provides a timely and accurate Integrated TrainingEnvironment (ITE) at the Korea Battle Simulations Centers and Training Support ActivityKorea in support of 8th Army LVCG-ITE training requirements.
The second task order, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) -Instructor Operators, also awarded by ACC-O, provides aviation simulation instructor/operatorsthat support flight simulator instructor/operator training on two separatetraining platforms: the AH-64 Apache Longbow Crew Trainer, which providesfull-mission simulator training capability, and the CH-47F ChinookTransportable Flight Proficiency Simulators, which provides initial andproficiency training of pilots, instructor pilots, and maintenance test pilotson CH-47F. Training for this task order is conducted in five outside thecontinental United States (OCONUS) locations, including Indonesia, South Korea,Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
