The DiSTI Corporation has delivered a six-student virtual maintenance training classroom to the Wyoming Army National Guard, marking the first National Guard unit in the country to train virtually on the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Diagnostic Troubleshooting Trainer (DTT). This virtual classroom enables soldiers to train on complex systems without the need for physical equipment, helping ensure readiness and proficiency.

The virtual maintenance training solution is based on technology that has already been used in the U.S. Army's Family of Maintenance Trainer's program, which has proven to be effective in enhancing soldier skills. This training environment allows soldiers to improve their understanding of the systems’ operations, increase the rate of knowledge transfer, and enable more students to train at once, making the program more efficient.

The virtual training enables multiple students to train simultaneously, allowing the Wyoming Army National Guard to maximize training efficiency and maintain operational readiness. According to DiSTI, this approach is particularly valuable in scenarios where equipment availability is limited, enabling continuous training without dependence on physical assets.

The virtual training solution ensures that soldiers not only understand the mechanics but also the underlying principles of the equipment they will be operating and maintaining. This comprehensive understanding instills a deep sense of confidence and security, contributing to higher proficiency when performing real-world tasks.

The Wyoming Army National Guard is the first National Guard unit to adopt this virtual training method. This initiative reflects a broader move towards leveraging technology to meet the evolving demands of modern military operations.
