We’re at D-5 and team Halldale Group is prepared to attend 2024 I/ITSEC this December 2-6 in Orlando, Florida. Andy Smith, Publisher and CEO, will be joined by our Marketing Strategy Consultant Holly Foster and Group Editor Marty Kauchak to explore the latest in simulation and technology innovation, and other industry develoments.
Navy Vice Adm. (retired) Sean S. Buck, President, National Training and Simulation Association, NTSA, provided an overarching preview of this year’s conference in a recent interview with us.
Beyond these insights, here are a few stark predictions on the community and technology developments we’ll be observing.
The community will see the continued breakdown of S&T “verticals” as represented in Halldale’s editorial programs – military, civil aviation and safety critical training. Most noticeably, new releases of the same hardware and software products, be it projectors or learning management systems, will be increasingly capable of supporting audiences in the different learning enterprises.
We’re expecting nothing less than AI, data and XR to be at the forefront of enabling technologies being discussed on the exhibition floor and in conference sessions. What we’ll also be attentive to are the efforts from the customer-industry teams to remove and address some of the “guardrails” and challenges to these enablers’ wider implementation. While, for instance, the military services are proceeding at breakneck speed to advance AI for learning through R&D and other efforts, there remain concerns about security, transparency, ethics and other issues surrounding the technology.
And, as always, we’ll be on the prowl to gain and report emergent announcements and “breaking news” from the conference hall.
Staff members Amanda Towner and Patrick Johnston will keep our main website and its departments updated with daily and situational conference reports from I/ITSEC 2024. And for those who will be in Orlando next week, you are welcome to visit with us at conference booth #2556.
