CAE-inaugurates-72-600-sim-e1509531500208

CAE has secured new contracts with European airlines including Brussels Airlines and Stobart Air as it continues to expand its footprint in Europe.

As part of a five-year agreement signed in 2016, Ireland-based regional airline Stobart Air will now begin training pilots on CAE’s newly-inaugurated ATR 72-600 full-flight simulator at the company's training centre in Madrid from autumn 2017. Stobart Air's pilots will also be trained on the Embraer E190 platform at CAE Amsterdam from the first half of 2018.

CAE’s 7000XR Series FFS for the ATR 72-600 (pictured) will also be used to train pilots from Air Nostrum, White Airways, and Binter Canarias. The simulator is equipped with the CAE Tropos 6000XR visual system.

Brussels Airlines has renewed its five-year Airbus A320 and A330 training equipment services contract with CAE, under which the carrier’s pilots will continue to train at CAE's Brussels training centre. During a relationship between Brussels Airlines and CAE lasting over 10 years, CAE has placed and continues to place graduates from its Brussels aviation academy as First Officers with Belgium's national carrier.

Elsewhere in Europe, an additional CAE-built Airbus A320 full-flight simulator is now ready-for-training at its training centre in Amsterdam, supporting the pilot training needs of airlines in the region including easyJet.

Finally, CAE London Gatwick has completed the upgrade of its A320 FFS.

CAE is exhibiting at EATS 2017 on booth #304.
