A collaborative effort between UFA, Inc. (UFA) and the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) to conduct Emergency Team Coordination Training Simulations for Ben Gurion Airport has been shortlisted for the 2018 Jane’s ATC Award in the ‘Runway’ category.
During the airport-wide Emergency Team Coordination Training drills, UFA introduced the use of its high-fidelity ATTower Air Traffic Control Tower simulation linked with its ATVehicle Airside Driving Simulation.
Introduction of the linked simulation capability allowed for the creation of complex, real-world scenarios for realistic training of coordination between all airport groups, including ground operations, fire and rescue services, security and air traffic control.
The ‘Runway’ category of the 2018 Jane’s ATC Awards recognises organisations that prove they have made a difference in improving safety and efficiency on the runway and final approach.
Elsewhere, in June 2017 UFA signed a contract to provide Skyguide with its suite of ATC training solutions.
