L3-CTS-FFS-e1531823652189

L3 Commercial Aviation has announced three significant exclusive contracts with China Southern, Shenzhen Airlines and Qingdao Airlines.

The company is to provide four full flight simulators (FFS) - two Airbus A320 and two Boeing 737 RealitySeven™ simulators - for Zhuhai Xiang Yi Aviation Technology Co. Ltd., a China Southern Airlines Company, for its training centers in Zhuhai, China. The devices are scheduled for delivery within one year, with the first due as early as the second half of 2018 and the final device by the end of the first quarter of 2019.

The delivery will support the airline's requirement to increase its training capabilities and capacity following its recent investment in expanding and modernizing its fleet. China Southern Airlines is currently scheduled to take delivery of 309 aircraft over the next three years.

Qingdao Airlines is to be supplied with four new training devices for its training center in Longkou, China, to be delivered in 2019 and 2020. L3 will provide two A320 RealitySeven FFS's and two flat panel trainers.

The contract with Shenzhen Airlines is to provide a Boeing 737-8 FFS for its training center. The FFS is scheduled for delivery in January 2020 and will be the airlines' first Boeing 737-8 FFS. In 2015, the airline placed an order for 29 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, and the investment in this device will play a significant role, allowing the airline to train and develop pilots for its expanding fleet.
