Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has launched a new degree program for Asia, focusing on the future of aerospace sustainability

A first of its kind in the region, the Master's degree is designed for those who want to create a viable and more robust industry. With aviation growth rebounding, sustainability has become an even more pressing global challenge, highlighting a need for those who understand the recent advances in science, practice and innovation and how they can be applied to aerospace sustainability strategies.

"Aviation plays a part in efforts to meet the 2030 and 2050 net-zero goals, and quick and regular change is needed across the industry,” said Assistant Professor Eva Maleviti of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. “Sustainability means change, and with a strong culture, knowledge, technology and infrastructure, aviation can become and remain a sustainable industry. This is the educational goal of Embry-Riddle’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Aviation and Aerospace Sustainability Program."

The degree program was designed for those who want to create a cleaner and more robust industry by exploring these technical advances, along with the improved management practices that can help companies meet both operational and environmental goals.

Students in this program will learn the skills needed to implement sustainable practices, applying existing environmental schemes to reduce the industry's carbon footprint and enhance sustainability practices.

The M.S. in Aviation and Aerospace Sustainability program serves leaders overseeing the integration of sustainability into their organizations, senior managers involved with sustainability projects, industry professionals looking to boost career opportunities in this growing discipline and scientists and engineers involved in sustainability research.

Applications are now open for the program’s January 2024 intake.
