Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA), home to the Atlas Cadet Academy and operated by Spartan Education Group (SEG), has announced the opening of its new FAA-approved satellite training base at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport (DKB).

The new facility features an FAA-approved Advanced Training Device (ATD) that supports instrument training for students enrolled in IAA’s FAA Part 141 program.

IAA has also launched a new partnership with Atlas Air, opening enrollment for the Atlas Cadet Academy (ACA). The academy offers a pathway for aspiring pilots to become First Officers with Atlas Air, a cargo and passenger aviation provider.

"This expansion aligns with IAA's mission to make quality flight training accessible and streamlined for aspiring recreational and professional pilots across Illinois," said Robert Werderich, Executive Vice President of Flight Operations at SEG.

IAA is now enrolling students for the Atlas Cadet Academy, which aims to prepare aviators for potential opportunities with Atlas Air, one of the world’s largest 747 operators.
