CAE has announced that the C-130 Aeromedical Evacuation Training System for the United States Air Force at Dobbins Air Reserve Base (ARB) is now on-motion, fully operational and ready-for-training.
The addition of a motion platform for an aeromedical fuselage trainer is believed to be the first of its kind in the world and will provide US Air Force aeromedical evacuation crews with a more realistic virtual training environment.
The fuselage trainer now moves across all six-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF), including three rotational degrees of freedom (roll, pitch, yaw) and three linear degrees of freedom (surge, heave, sway).
In addition to the C-130 fuselage trainer, CE's Aeromedical Evacuation Training System includes human patient simulators from CAE Healthcare and a comprehensive curriculum, including portable instructor operator station to provide full control and customization of a variety of aeromedical training scenarios.
