CAE and Elbit Systems announced at the Defence Systems Equipment International (DSEI) that the two companies signed a joint agreement to pursue the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence training opportunities.

The companies UK arms, CAE UK plc and Elbit Systems UK, are looking at opportunities that fall under the Defence Operational Training Capability (Air) program, or DOTC-A, specifically the DOTC(A) Core System and Services project and the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training project.

Projects and training programs under the DOTC(A) program seek to better prepare the Royal Air Force, support defense-wide requirements to download live training into the synthetic environment, and allow a rebalancing of live/synthetic training.

"We recognise defence forces are looking to increasingly leverage synthetic environments for more of the operational and mission training they need to conduct, and the UK MOD's Defence Operational Training Capability programme aims to address these requirements," said Jonathan Browning, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, CAE UK plc.

The scope of the DOTC(A) Core Systems and Services project covers a range of support, maintenance, repair and logistic support for training.
