Trideum demonstrated conference-wide thought leadership at the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training event.
The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) brings military services and industry from all over the world together to educate and demonstrate the newest innovations in modeling, simulation and training. The conference, held Nov. 26-30, boasted nearly 19 thousand participants from government, industry and academia. Whether at I/ITSEC tutorials, demonstrations, special events and even the exhibit floor, Trideum held a presence in training, simulations and education innovation.
“I/ITSEC continues to be the premier event for those of us in the modeling, simulation, training and education community,” said Favio Lopez, director of Operations at Trideum. “The National Training and Simulation Association, along with the hundreds of volunteers making up the I/ITSEC Committee, made this such a successful event and we feel honored we played a role in the planning and execution of this year’s I/ITSEC.
A featured project in I/ITSEC’s first Launch Pad event, Trideum’s SimChEC was presented to an audience of military and industry acquisition leaders for potential procurement. The program is a game-changing innovation enabling live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) event managers to identify and resolve configuration or architectural compliance issues before training activities begin, identify systems requiring critical software updates and schedule updates so that they do not impact the readiness of training missions. With broad applications and impacts to all military services’ LVC training event needs, SimChEC was selected from dozens of program nominations for presentation at the conference.
The Trideum team also led a number of tutorials and presentations at the event:
Trideum also sponsored two I/ITSEC special events, including the Serious Games Showcase and Challenge, which exhibited the best-in-class learning games submitted by business, government and student developers, and Trideum awarded the most noteworthy games. Trideum also sponsored the Annual I/ITSEC 5K Run, Walk and Roll with proceeds benefitting the Camaraderie Foundation.
In addition, a number of Trideum personnel served on I/ITSEC committees including:
Favio Lopez – Simulation Subcommittee ChairMichael O’Connor – Knowledge Management SubcommitteeMatt Spruill – Special Events ChairAlex Steiner – Human Performance, Analysis and Engineering Subcommittee
In addition, the National Training and Simulation Association announcement at the 2018 I/ITSEC Awards Banquet named Matt Spruill, Trideum operations manager, as the 2019 I/ITSEC Deputy Program Chair. The announcement was made by the current Program Chair, Robert Kleinhample. The Deputy Conference Chair role for 2019 ensures Spruill will be the Program Chair for 2020 and Conference Chair in 2022.
“Trideum is looking forward to I/ITSEC 2019, said Lopez. “We are truly humbled that Matt joined our team. His selection is a direct reflection of who he is as a leader and recognizes his continued contribution to this community.”
