Octagon Simulation Ltd, has released its latest virtual asset: the Bavar-373 TELAR. This model, the first of its kind, sheds light on the previously concealed aspects of the Bavar-373 variant, which had been hidden from public view by Iranian officials.
Octagon Simulation Ltd's virtual model will serve as a vital tool in simulation technology, enabling Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) and fighter jet pilots to identify the real-world asset and assess its state of readiness with unprecedented accuracy.
The Iranian Air Defense Forces had meticulously concealed the radar antenna of the Bavar-373 TELAR, resorting even to the digital manipulation of images and videos to obscure its presence during launch tests.
Despite their efforts, traces of the radar antenna were discernible in shadows and leaked imagery. Octagon Simulation Ltd embarked on a mission to reverse-engineer this clandestine variant, unravelling the secrets of how the antenna is ingeniously folded beneath the Silo stack housing the Sayyad-4B missiles.
Initially entering service in 2019, the Bavar-373 system has drawn comparisons to Russia's S-300 and the US-made Patriot missile systems due to its formidable capabilities. Iranian authorities claim it can simultaneously detect and engage up to 100 aerial targets using the new Sayyad-4B missiles. Although Iranian officials have declared the range of the enhanced Bavar-373 at 300 kilometres (186 miles), independent verification of this assertion is pending.
On April 17, 2024, the Iranian Air Defense Forces unveiled a highly modernized variant of the Bavar-373 long-range air defense system, purportedly capable of neutralizing US-manufactured stealth aircraft. Revealed during a recent military procession in Tehran, this new iteration purportedly boasts enhanced capabilities in target detection and tracking, equipping it to intercept radar-eluding fifth-generation fighter jets such as the F-35.
"We are thrilled to introduce the first-ever accurate model of the Bavar-373 TELAR," said Damien Meade, [Director] at Octagon Simulation Ltd. "Our virtual asset provides unparalleled insight into this critical defense technology, enabling users to better understand and engage with its capabilities in a simulated environment."
