TRU Simulation has awarded a contract to Aechelon Technology in support of the US Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division’s (NAWCTSD) Multi-Engine Training System (METS) Ground Based Training System (GBTS) Simulator Program.

The contract will provide Image Generators and Visual Databases to the program for realistic flight training for student military aviators using the T-54A METS aircraft. The initial order will include image generators and visual databases for three Unit Training Devices (UTDs) and one Operational Fight Trainer (OFT). The work will be accomplished at the TRU Simulation facility in Lutz, Florida, and the Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi in Texas.

Aechelon Technology will supply its pC-NOVANucleus, a true multi-spectral multi-channel compact image generator featuring Multi-GPU NVIDIA Professional with a reduced footprint. The Aechelon Technology Nucleus Image Generator integrates a full-resolution worldwide 3D visual and sensor database with domestic and foreign areas of interest. This Global database is already deployed and being used on other DoD programs without the need for down-sampling, de-rating, or modification — thus ensuring complete correlation and commonality with other U.S. DoD devices also utilizing Aechelon Technology Image Generators.
