Advanced Aircrew Academy’s online training module Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Safety Managers received accreditation from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).

The International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) and International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Audit Procedures Manuals require IS-BAO/IS-BAH auditors to complete an SMS training course acceptable to IBAC. Advanced Aircrew Academy’s eLearning module meets that training requirement.

The eLearning module is an introduction to and overview of the SMS concept and shows how an SMS can enhance safety in a flight operation. It is organized around the four elements of SMS: Policy, Risk Management, Assurance and Promotion. It provides web links, background information, references, and example scenarios of an effective SMS in action.

There are several versions of the SMS eLearning module for pilots, mechanics, cabin crews, schedulers and dispatchers, line service technicians and office personnel. It is customizable to the operator’s SMS and uses company-specific hazard reporting procedures and risk management polices and procedures.
