3D perception  has successfully completed the relocation and visual upgrade of a Grob G120TP flight simulator for CAE USA at the CAE Dothan Training Center in Alabama. The project preserved core components, demonstrating 3DP’s expertise in cost-effective system upgrades.

The CAE Dothan Training Center trains over 600 military pilots annually and includes classroom, simulation and live-flight training in support of U.S. and allied forces.

Project features include:

Projector Modernization: The existing 3D perception Atlas visual display system was upgraded to high-resolution solid-state projectors, offering improved performance and reduced maintenance.

System Optimization includes:

3D perception Eclipse dynamic optical blender system for seamless day-to-night and NVG scenarios;

3D perception nBox post-image generator warp and blend image processor to support advanced connectivity and high fidelity image quality;

Refinished Aurora instrumented auto-alignment screen for higher contrast with brighter projectors;

Retained existing projector mounting structure, quantity and placement, contributing to cost savings;

Efficient Relocation: Successfully moved the entire system to a new floor while minimizing down-time on their customers’ training schedules.

“3D Perception completed work on the Grob G120TP simulator ahead of schedule and within budget,” said Stefan King, Sr. Program Manager at CAE USA. “Their efforts to exceed our expectations enabled us to minimize impact to customer training and enhance the visual display system.”
