In response to the 2018 torrential rains in western Japan, Hiroshima Prefecture partnered with Hiroshima University and Rikei Corp. to develop VR materials aimed at educating residents about natural disaster risks.

The "Hiroshima Natural Disaster Experience VR" simulates floods, mudslides, and earthquakes using 360-degree visuals. The initiative aims to help residents understand potential dangers and encourage timely evacuations.

By providing immersive experiences, the VR materials aim to raise awareness about disaster preparedness. The project is designed to ensure residents are better equipped to respond to future emergencies effectively.
